Travel grants are available to students and to participants from developing/transitional economy (as identified each year by the UN).
Those who wish to be considered for a travel grant MUST fill out the online grant request form, avilable after submitters are notified of paper/panel acceptance.
The amount of the grant will depend on actual travel costs. A surcharge of US$2 on each conference registration and other available funds finance these grants.
Additionally, each division and special interest group may award travel grants to students selected for top paper awards, and may have other grant money available. ICA matches up to US$300 per division for student travel grants.
For information on division and/or special interest group grant availability, contact the chair/conference planner of the division/special interest group that accepted your paper.

ICA recommends that non-member conference registrants join ICA as members first in order to receive membership discounts for conference events. Typically, membership and registration combined costs less than the non-member rate for the conference. This especially true for students--plus you gain access to ICA journals, including ALL those previously published!
Submission of your paper or proposal does NOT enroll you as an ICA member, or automatically register you for the conference itself. If your paper or proposal is accepted for presentation at the Singapore conference, you will be notified and must then register for the conference and pay the conference fee. Online membership application is always available on the ICA home page. Online registration for the Singapore conference will be available beginning in early 2010.
Everyone planning to attend the conference must complete the registration process. This includes paper presenters, non-ICA members, and Life and Sustaining members.
The ICA Executive Committee and Board have been working on these issues for over a year. First, the Board of Directors voted to lower the registration fee for this conference and incur an overall loss in the budget. Conference registration fees will be US$125 for members and US$75 for student members. This fee will include all breaks and lunches on the main conference days. A special cultural closing dinner will be available for US$25.
You can register for the conference at the ICA Web site.
The durian, notorious for its aroma, is a favorite fruit among Singaporeans. And the best season for durian begins in June, right around the ICA 2010 conference!
Heres's a trivia for durian.
How to remove the durian's smell from your hands? Run your hands through the spiky part of its shell and wash your hands with the water that runs out of it. The chemicals in the shell acts as your natural soap.

Singapore's performing arts venue, the Esplanade, is lovingly called by locals as the Durian for the building's uncanny resemblance to the King of Fruits.
A centerpiece cultural center, the Esplanade offers a complete lifestyle experience.
